Periodically I have a good social media cull. I have a check through the groups I'm in (it was over 250!), who I am connected to on LinkedIn (I removed over 500 connections – it took a while) and who I'm following on the other channels.
When we follow and engage with a business, there's a reason for it. Over time the reason may have lessened or disappeared altogether. Just like unsubscribing from newsletters that you no longer wish to receive, having a good old clear out on your social channels helps you stay focused on developing networks that are valuable to your business.
